Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou is the youngest of four children born August 9, 1976, in Beaumont Puy de Domme. Since a young age, her dental doctor parents as well as her teacher mother encouraged her passion of theater and drama. This passion that overshadowed her initial wish to be an animal scientist. Early success and a rapid increase in recognition was a sign of her development as an actor. After completing her studies She was a part of the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers that was sponsored by Canal+. Tautou was educated at Institut Catholique de Paris, attended church as a young girl and was educated Catholic. However she is now separating herself from this background. Her acting and modelling careers were intertwined. Her image was the mainstay for L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is known as the Chanel Muse. Her photography is also a obsession and she was recently shown her work at the Arles festival under the name Superficial. The majority of her photography is focused on the spotlight and celebrities and then turns her camera to the media who sat on her shoulders following her sudden rise to fame in the film Amelie in addition to several self-portraits. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first major role starring as a lead character in Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie made international waves on the screen and was awarded awards across all over the world. It remains the highest grossing French language film in the US. In the following year, she appeared in British dramas, including Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things as well as Jean-Pierre Junet's The long day of the fiancailles. Then Tautou moved to Hollywood where Ron Howard directed the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code.
